Happy Birthday to Ping.sg. Congratulations to Uzyn and all those involved in Ping.sg! I just came back from the party. The party was a dull affair, apart from the socializing with some of the bloggers that I know and getting to know some new friends. I felt like being bored and awkward at many times during the party.

Why do I feel this way?

  1. The party was delayed for about half an hour. Waiting can be frustrating. Delaying for 15 minutes are acceptable. Anything more than that are no good for the organizer's image.
  2. The MCs looked and sounded LOST. At some points, they don't even know which award was to be presented during the award presentation. I'm not sure if they had prepared well or it was just meant to be spontaneous with "LA-ME" jokes (rinaz pronunciation of lame). But I did laughed at some of the jokes.
  3. Bad organization of the party. I felt sorry for the sponsors - BAK2U and Advertlets. Sponsors who sponsor event was to create awareness and hope to interact with the participants in order to get quality feedbacks. But sadly, they did not get good response. Also, time slot for the sponsors were arrange wrongly. It was a very awkward situation just now when Josh Lim had to say that he felt bad luck because of the slot that he got to speak.
  4. Non-responsive and tongue tied bloggers. I believe that many of those who attended just now was very good in expressing themselves with words, especially those nominated for the awards. They write good articles which never fails to entertain their readers. Sadly, almost all can only utter a "thank you" after receiving their awards. That's the only appreciation given to those who voted. I think many bloggers are better sitting in front of the computer with some exceptions like EastCoastLife and DK.
The list could go on a few more points. But, I think it's better left for you guys to think about it. I hope that you understand that I'm not criticizing anyone here. What I want to drive at was how the party was not organize well. Also the supposed closely knitted community of bloggers in Ping.sg could have contributed more to make it a livelier party.

Well, I think there are definitely more rooms for improvement in the future Ping.sg events. I hope to attend the next one, if there were any.

So, how do you find the party just now? How do you feel?

Blogging has become part of my life now as I'm trying to make money online with it. It has been so much that recently my girlfriend started to complain that I spend more time facing the computers than shower her with love. But lucky me that she's someone who is understanding and of course I do take some time off blogging to attend to her.

Well, I've been using blogger.com since 3 years ago. This blog has become my personal diary. I have other blogs. Before starting a new blog, I have to buy new domain names and also subscribe to hosting plans. I like to buy domain names from goDaddy.com. It has one of the best pricing.

Recently I found out that this site called jj9 provides discount codes for purchases at goDaddy.com. I've use some of them to purchase a few domain names and a couple of hosting with goDaddy.com. In total, I've save more than $100. That's great because my make money online initiative hasn't start reaping in big bucks yet. Just small pies.

There are many other coupons and discount codes can be used with other online stores such as Apple Store, Dell and The Body Shop. JJ9 updates the coupons offerings almost everyday. New discounts can be download for purchases. One of the deal that I like is the "Free Shipping for orders of purchase more than $50" for Apple Store. Hey, which Apple gadget costs less than $50. Well, this really saves me the shipping fees.

Do you buy at online stores? If your answer is yes, head to jj9 to get your discount codes and coupons now!

3 ladies were on a flight. Suddenly the pilot informed them that there was a technical problem and the plane was going to crash into the sea.

A Chinese lady quickly took her cosmetics set out and started to doll herself up. A Malay lady beside her questioned her on her actions. The Chinese lady replied that if she looked beautiful, the guys coming to rescue survivors could usually save the pretty ladies first.

On hearing this, the Malay lady started to put on all her jewelleries. An Indian woman sitting beside the Malay lady was curious and questioned her. The Malay lady said that the rescuers would save her because she would easily be identified by the glitter of her jewels.

Then the Indian woman started taking her clothes off.

Both the Chinese and Malay ladies were shocked and questioned her. The Indian woman then replied that rescue teams do not usually look for survivors. They usually look for the "Black Box" first!

DIY Home Repairs

Have you try DIY some of your home repairs? As for myself, I've done quite a number of DIY Home Repairs. One of the most recent DIY home repairs that I've done is to put up a curtain rail for the window at my home. Drilling holes to fit in the screws is the most difficult part. A cordless drill comes handy for drilling holes. It makes the drilling easy. I don't need a plug for electricity as it is powered by batteries.

After drilling the holes, the rails were mounted onto the walls by tightening the screws to the holes drilled earlier. It's a easy DIY work I did at home.

Share with me your experience. Cheers.
